Kay Macara had journeyed a long way from her Redondo Beach home in Los Angeles to London to speak at the Earls Court Book Fair as Author of the Day. She was a bit more than nervous about revealing her true identity as Jaid Rumor, the world's most popular and mysterious erotic romance author. It didn't help that this trip fell smack dab on the one-year anniversary of her divorce from a real sleaze. Katherine Macara (Kay) is a famous erotic romance author. She is celebrating her first year of freedom from her cheating ex-husband as she attends the Earls Court Book Faire in London. But her plans for a quick trip and stay over at her old college friend's place are suddenly changed. A freak snow storm cancels her plans and she decides to look forward to unexpected time to relax. But her thoughts are rudely interrupted by the sudden and shocking arrival of a wounded and bleeding ex- boyfriend. One who cheated on her. Bryce McKendrick may be as handsome and charismatic as ever but he broke Kay's heart long ago. She knows not to fall for his lying charms again, no matter how nicely packaged. However, a short fling is something else entirely.
I enjoyed the author's insights into writing romance and felt the author's clear love for her characters. Kay was a very genuine heroine. She was a contradiction, feisty and confident but also very vulnerable. Bryce is a very attractive hero who realizes that this time he can't let Kay go. His determination to understand Kay and claim her made for an absorbing story. I enjoyed this short, sweet romance and loved the romantic ending!

I loved this book! A successful, but unfulfilled, American young woman goes to England on business, and stumbles into adventure, suspence, and romance with an old love she had banished from her life, but not from her heart. An enjoyable read with some fun, sexy scenes.
