As you may have already read in ‘Til Death Do Us Part, Vol. I, I was a young bride who married my high school sweetheart at the age of 19. In my marriage, I have experienced both trials and triumphs. It has honestly been a roller coaster ride to Hell and back. Although, marital separation is something that I wouldn't even wish on my worst enemy, I can honestly say that it was the best thing to happen to me because in that time, I developed a relationship with God and soon began to realize just how much I need Him in my life.
In ‘Til Death Do Us Part, Vol. II, I will continue to share the journey of my marriage, along with the biblical principles that I have learned involving relationships, friendships, church fellowship, and discipleship. I will also share my testimonies on the many characteristics of who God is to me and how He has transformed my life. I want to encourage you all to step out on faith and follow the plan that God has for you. No matter what comes your way, and no matter who tells you that it can’t be done, remember that when you let Him lead, you will always succeed!

'Til Death Do Us Part edition by Sonya Williams Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
While I like how the author was honest with her work, I just don't agree on a lot of the things written.
This is an honest review but from a place of love. It is my opinion about the reading experience and please take it as such because I don't believe art is worthy of critique. This review is subjective to the book, it should not be taken personal because it is merely an opinion & an honest take on a reading experience from one who loves to read and write as. This review is about my discomfort with the book's arrangement and style of message presentation because I believe these would have enhanced my reading experience more. For example, if the poetry was better infused into the book's overall message presentation, or at least in a separate section so that it wouldn't appeal to be a distraction rather than enhance the flow or at least come with a forewarning so I knew to expect so many of them while I'm trying to read about a journey ) which I love stories of experiences, then it would have been a more enjoyable read personally speaking. Secondly, if this would have been not so unexpectedly preachy but rather a sharing style of no reproach to others because quite frankly the author is still learning about life and is not an ordained minister with experience or guidance on how to teach, therefore should have focused on just telling of her experiences, it would have been more enjoyable to read. {God is the one that changes & saves people , we people are vessels He can use to influence change in others --- ministers just pass on the message to us, however us knowing better doesn't qualify us to be experts to remotely tell someone what to do all of a sudden. I tell myself this often so I can avoid the need to preach to people when my situations ain't always together either ) however I do encourage and share God's word and try not to do it in a judgemental manner for I myself would be judged and also have a plank in my eye (Matt chapter 7). }
I give this review a 4 star because it takes courage to search deep & then share with the world from one's own journey, especially if it was a painful experience and that's what this book was about... Or so I anticipated. It wasn't quite the experience I anticipated mainly due to the flow of read which affected my overall experience with the book. Allow me to explain
1. it started out with an introduction telling us readers that the book would be about "the death of my relationship with not only my husband, but also with God", However it read differently in two ways. The book began with Poetry, then the personal reflection of the author's life ( at that point I imagined the reflection would be more constant, leading up to one of the relationships that died or something), then more poetry and back & forth. Although I loved loved loved this beautiful take on writing (infusing poetry in the read) it quickly became a nightmare for me during reading only because the reading of the poetry intermixed with the recounts of her life took away momentum from the message I was suppose to be getting altogether because it didn't quite flow well. I'll admit this is also a personal expectation, to get what was promised in the intro where what to be expected was presented, therefore the poetry was a surprise. The intro didn't mention a poetry fusion to help tell the story and if it would have, at least it should have a flow that made it all work together in the relay of her message. It rather became annoying because it started to read like some sort of delay for the main read (sort of like the things a person says when they are not ready to get down to the main purpose of what they wanted to talk to you about yet). As a poetry lover, this perspective about the placement of the poetry influenced the core appreciation I should have had for her poetry no matter it's placement. Since it seemed to appear more prominent than the story she did say the book would be about, I became confused in reading and it made the experience not so enjoyable. Maybe having an experienced editor review the work would have helped with the arrangement of the pieces for more smooth reading experience.
2. "Finish the learning before you begin the teaching" -) original quote to surmise this #2 of the review. I had hoped for a nice recount about her personal experience, which would have really evoked emotion out of me to be able to feel her pain, reading about how she sat back and learned and reading how she was humbled by it all. However, not long after I began to read, it seemed I was getting lectures about God rather than her experience with losing touch with God. People tend to be more responsive when they can be related to like when they can connect with you for having also gone through some trying times. No matter how deep the book went, I felt preached to rather than learning about her own journey. That took away a bit of enjoyment also because I don't mind being told or reminded about what to do in my lacking relationship, but when I picked up the book it didn't say "this is a self help book about what to do when you suck at being in a good relationship with God" it did say it would be about the author's own experience, how she was was lost and then found type of thing ). I suppose if after telling me what she experienced and how she learned from it first, and then proceed to give advises or lectures, then I would receive it better. What all that communicated to me is something I personally find a whole lot of people/ Christians do -- upon becoming a born again, they don't humble themselves to learn & grow first before deciding to preach to others ( I could go on a whole other rant about this). The book reflected to me that even while going through, the author may have been too busy trying to preach or lecture others about what's right or wrong or what to do or not to do instead of being STILL and humbly fully getting from the situation what the lessons are. Allowing that experience to truly humble her to the point of not "knowing all" but being ready, so that when someone "asks" or "needs" help in that area of life, having sat still to learn and be submerged into the whole experience, sharing it with others wouldn't appeal to be in a lecturing sort of manner but in a more encouraging non-judgmental way. This just read more like a telling me what to do about my life book and what to do with God more than a book of sharing in one's journey.
All in all, I can not take away from the Author what courage it might have taken to share with the world from her heart; my hat goes off to you on that note. I pray that life brings you more joy and growth in your learning and may your latter years be far better than your former. Remain blessed.

I'll be completely honest and admit that I am not a Christian. I'm not quite an athiest, but to say that I am a skeptic is not far from the truth. While I can appreciate other's paths and journeys in faith - I don't have that "personal" relationship that others claim. And I don't have a problem with that. But my lack of grasping the personal relationship as detailed in this book does not impede my ability to review the book with an open mind.
The author has created a series of "steps" that are detailed in poetry, and sprinkled with quotes from pastors, the bible and detailed conversations with others about her trials. Much of this poetry feels better suited to a spoken word format rather than read, while the author has experienced a rebirth in her attitudes and approaches, there is a voice that approaches, but does not quite mature to an adult level in its construct. Sadly, I was hoping to find more in the poetic construct, although I will say that the author has a very distinct voice with a rhythmical phrasing that is well suited to the poetic form.
What I didn't find was a great deal of reasons for me to see why this journey was a worthwhile one - the quotes from pastors all felt as if they were delivered as rote, without a great deal of detail as to how she would put the information into practice. I see her joy with discovering particular passages, but what was missing so often for me was the sense that these changes were something she was struggling with, or had incorporated. Which is not a bad thing, as I think this is a first baby step on her journey, and the full impact is still being realized.
I can say that I think if someone is searching, and feels as if they are the only person who has had these questions, concerns or feelings, that this will provide them a sense of commonality with another person who is traveling the same pathway. Most certainly geared to a Christian reader, or one who is exploring their path, this book may be helpful to them.
I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review as part of the Indies Rock promotion on I am, Indeed. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.
